Yanira Colon was born and raised in Puerto Rico and moved to Miami, FL, to study fashion design. After completing her degree, she worked as a designer for several years before moving to New York City to further her education and career. During her time in New York, Yanira worked for New York & Company as Director of Sourcing and Product Development, where she oversaw the sourcing of the in-house designed accessories collection.

While working in the corporate world, Yanira always enjoyed organizing and decorating events as a hobby. This love of entertaining and decorating began during her teen years, allowing her to channel her creativity into turning any gathering into a special event.

In 2010, Yanira had the opportunity to move to Bangalore, India. During that time, she had her first entrepreneurial experience, creating a brand of baby products using beautiful hand block printed textiles from Jaipur.

Upon returning to the US in 2016, Yanira dreamed of starting a home-based business that would allow her to express her creativity while spending time with her family and caring for her two young daughters. After moving to Ellicott City, Maryland, in 2019, she turned her passion for art, design, parties, and balloons into a business.

Perfectly Wrapped was founded in 2019 and evolved into a full-service balloon decorating business during the pandemic. Today, Perfectly Wrapped offers balloon decor services for parties and events, including balloon arches and centerpieces for corporate events and galas, eye-catching displays for grand openings, elegant garlands for weddings and bridal showers, trendy organic-style balloons for birthdays, and balloon drops for New Year’s celebrations. Whatever the occasion, they elevate events with Instagram-worthy balloon art.

In July 2023, Perfectly Wrapped Balloons moved to Charlotte, NC, where Yanira is continuing to build the business.

Outside of her family and business, Yanira’s passion is travel. She loves to visit new places and explore local cultures. Both Yanira and her husband are Hispanic and proudly share their heritage with their daughters.
